Tuition Assistance Program

Breaking financial barriers to student success

Established in 2015, the G-Thamini Scholarship Program (TAP) was launched to support high-achieving but financially disadvantaged students from Mukuru. The program identifies promising learners through teacher recommendations, academic performance, and demonstrated commitment, offering them a lifeline to continue their education.

To remain in the program, students must uphold a B+ average or higher, ensuring that only the most dedicated and driven students benefit. Due to limited funding, the number of applicants far exceeds the available slots, making each opportunity all the more meaningful.

TAP lifts the heavy financial burden off parents and guardians by covering tuition fees, textbooks, and living expenses, allowing students to focus on their studies without financial strain.

Currently, seven students are enrolled in the program—five pursuing degrees at universities across Kenya, and two in high school. Since its inception, TAP has supported a total of 21 students, empowering them to pursue their dreams and build better futures.

This year marks a proud milestone:
David Kinyua, who joined the scholarship program eight years ago as a high school student, is set to become TAP’s first university graduate. In December 2025, David will graduate from Mount Kenya University with a degree in Real Estate Management. He is currently completing an internship in valuation and real estate consultancy at a Nairobi-based firm, turning the opportunity given to him into a stepping stone for lasting success.

The G-Thamini Scholarship Program continues to open doors for bright minds—proving that with support, talent and determination can transform lives.
