Bringing communities together through the spirit of soccer

The G-thamini Soccer Tournaments are more than a series of matches—they’re a powerful platform for youth empowerment. Held during each of the three school term breaks, these tournaments attract hundreds of young people, offering a space not only for fun and competition but also for meaningful learning and personal growth.

While the excitement of the game brings the youth together, our focus extends far beyond the field. We take a holistic approach by integrating mentorship, life skills training, and essential first aid knowledge into the tournament experience. With a strong emphasis on healthy relationships and physical fitness, we aim to equip young people with the tools to make informed choices, build positive connections, and embrace active lifestyles.

Our team offers continuous guidance and support to participants, fostering an environment of encouragement and self-discovery. Through our Teen Talk and Sister Circle programs, we facilitate engaging pre- and post-game discussions that address critical topics such as self-esteem, teenage pregnancy, sexuality, HIV/AIDS prevention, and life skills development.

For girls, the tournament presents an opportunity to learn about menstrual health and hygiene in a safe, supportive setting. We provide menstrual supplies and lead open conversations to break taboos and promote confidence.

By combining sport with education and mentorship, the G-thamini Soccer Tournaments create a transformative experience—empowering both boys and girls to grow into informed, healthy, and confident individuals ready to lead in their communities.
